the stimulus bill is going to cost a lot of money. 800 billion? 900? a couple hundred more with interest? who knows?
the government simply can't afford it, so it's going to take out more debt to cover the cost of the programs. my question to all of you is simply this:
would you willingly pay more on your taxes to lower the cost of the stimulus plan to future generations?
if so, why?
if not, why?
personally, i would not. i have low confidence that my overage would be any better spent than what i already pay.
TARP apparently overpaid the recipients by $78 billion.
it was reported in 2007 that the Pentagon wasn't properly accounting for over $1 trillion in expenditures.
now, both of those occurred under bush, but it still doesn't give me a whole lot of confidence in the federal government.
